Anything actively causing damage or leaving you without safe water: a pipe spraying or flooding, sewage coming up a drain or toilet, a water heater dumping water, or a total loss of water. If you are not sure, call. We will help you decide whether to shut something off and whether it can wait until morning.
If water is flowing where it should not be, shut off the fixture valve or the main water shutoff to the house. For a sewer backup, stop running water and avoid flushing. Then call, and we will talk you through it and get a plumber headed your way.
